I’m a Jesus follower, wife, mom, and friend.

I have been through grief before, but not like this. When our 14 year old daughter, Sarah, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, I never dreamed she’d leave us so quickly. She fought hard, but with a smile that lit up the room even on the darkest of days. I told her it was ok to go because Jesus could heal our broken hearts, just as He was going to heal her. I’m not sure my heart will be healed this side of heaven either, but I’m trusting Him to make beauty from ashes. Can we just be real with each other? I know I’m not alone in my grief, yet each of us has to go at our own pace. I’m just putting one foot in front of the other and learning that it is possible to be sad, but still have joy at the same time.
